ZOOMED OUT!
I’m coming off two great conferences: our TANGO Building Bridges Nonprofit Conference in mid-October and the recent CT Alliance Nonprofit Conference. Both were filled with great content that got our wheels turning and gave us new ideas to put into action.
But the best part? Seeing everyone face to face, shaking hands, and giving hugs to friends I’ve known for almost 40 years. Forty years? I must be getting up there!
In a world of back-to-back virtual meetings, it felt great to reconnect with so many people I’ve been fortunate to get to know over the years. These conversations reminded me how much we gain by simply being in the same room.
As we begin planning for 2027, I’d like to bring more of those opportunities to TANGO. We’ll continue to focus on our mission of helping nonprofits thrive from a business perspective through practical education, while sprinkling in a little fun along the way. There’s real value in making time to connect with people who share an interest in strengthening the nonprofit sector.
As my father told me many times, “A big part of success is simply showing up.” It’s certainly easier to log into a virtual meeting—and sometimes only half listen—but there’s nothing quite like seeing people face to face, sharing a laugh, and doling out a few hugs to people you respect and care about.
I hope to see you in person at an upcoming TANGO event. And as we plan for the year ahead, I welcome your thoughts and ideas about what would bring you out and bring us together.
Cheers!
