Summer is officially here!

With the passing of Memorial Day we welcome in my favorite time of year…summer. With that in mind I would first and foremost like to give honor to those US military personnel who died while serving our country and to the many nonprofit organizations in TANGO’s membership who support them and their families. Thank you for all you have done!

As we approach the half-way point of 2024, I would like to reflect on some of our accomplishments. These are all focused on achieving our established mission to “help nonprofits thrive” … from a business perspective.

1. Provide business-oriented education designed to help nonprofits stay current with best practices and emerging trends.

So far this year we have conducted 26 workshops at no cost to our nonprofit members.  This pace of learning opportunities will continue throughout the year and will be highlighted by our Annual Conference on September 26, 2024. Mark your calendars! To see our schedule of upcoming events please go to our TANGO Events Page.

2. Create meaningful scale in our membership whereby our nonprofit members can access the resources of our vetted Partner network.

This strategy has created a win/win situation where our members are accessing the best nonprofit focused professional service firms on a preferred basis. We now have 1744 members representing over 180,000 people who have chosen to work in the sector. This aggregation of nonprofits and socially conscious businesses has created a community of leaders working together to help each other grow. This year we have seen significant growth, especially in New York and New Jersey. Thank you for continuing to help us grow, the bigger we get the more we can do to support the sector.

3. Provide mission support, collaboration and capacity building.

We’ve accomplished this not only through the above-mentioned programs but also our unique ability to bring people together with a mindset to help each other. For example, our Woman Take the Lead program is a networking group for women leaders in the nonprofit and for-profit sector working collaboratively to help each other grow professionally and personally. This program continues to gain momentum with upcoming meetings in Worcester on August 29 and in Connecticut on June 6. Learn more on our Women Take the Lead page.

Our annual TANGO Golf Fundraiser held on May 15 provided us with enough money to fill the coffers of the TANGO Foundation. Thank you to those of you who participated as a player and sponsor! On June 13 we will be celebrating our 2024 Scholarships award winners by showcasing these Nonprofit Rising Stars at TANGO’s Celebrate Nonprofit Night at Dunkin’ Park with the Hartford Yard Goats. We will be giving out 800+ tickets to the game and welcome all our nonprofit members to join us!  Get your complimentary tickets while supplies last.  Learn more on the TANGO Events page.

So, we’ve accomplished a lot this year and genuinely feel momentum building, thank you for your support! I would also like to give one last shout out to our Partner network who quietly helps nonprofits every day on a one-on-one basis.  If it wasn’t for your philosophy of “doing well by doing good” TANGO would not survive.

Please let us know if there’s a way that TANGO can help your organization. We get our best ideas from our Nonprofit Members.

Have a wonderful summer!
Thanks!
Rollin
